AGENCY HISTORY
DACCO (Drug Abuse Comprehensive Coordinating Office, Inc.) was
incorporated as a not-for-profit agency in 1973 through the leadership
of representatives from the City of Tampa, Hillsborough County,
the Chamber of Commerce, United Way and other organizations. Initially,
DACCO provided drug abuse planning, coordination and monitoring
for local governmental units. In 1975, DACCO received funding to
provide drug treatment services. Over the 30 years of existence,
DACCO has expanded to a major comprehensive community-based substance
abuse service system reaching over 25,000 persons annually through
prevention, intervention and treatment programs to primarily Hillsborough
County residents.
MISSION STATEMENT
Mission Statement: DACCO- working for a drug-free
community, one person, one family at a time.
Vision Statement: DACCO's image is synonymous with drug-free living, setting the standard for
excellence in behavioral health.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE
Governed by a twenty (20) member Board of Trustees representing
a community cross-section, DACCO now operates 32 licensed and/or
accredited programs throughout the county through its 250 dedicated,
culturally competent employees. The Agency is accredited by CARF
and provides programming that is science-based. DACCO has received
numerous State awards for excellence. DACCO exemplifies best practices
by results and outcomes that consistently exceed standards in all
areas.
