Read Marissa's and Baby Jayden's Story
How a pregnant teen has achieved her goals.
I was referred to DACCO right after I gave birth to Jayden. I am 15 years old almost 16. I'd been real stupid and smoked some weed the two days before she was born, a month premature. The doctor said that was because of the marijuana. I was so stressed and thought I was fat and the boy who is her father was giving me a hard time. He did not want me to keep the baby. But I believe this is what I need to do. I was right she is beautiful and so little. I just finished my program at DACCO and I feel like I can make it without drugs now, I've got more confidence in myself. I've learned that I count and how to make proactive decisions instead of just letting my feeling drive my life. I know that smoking was not good for my baby or me. I'm eating healthy now and so is she. I'm taking my GED in two weeks and my teach thinks I'll pass with out a problem and then I'm going to become a medical technician. I'm smart, just made some dumb decisions in the past. My parents are helping me by babysitting Jayden when I go to school and thanks to my time at DACCO I now have some good goals and can see a nice future for me and my baby. It will be one with out drugs I am sure of that. |
