A lifestyle including substance abuse often causes individuals to neglect their health, resulting in various medical problems. Early diagnosis and treatment, combined with education, assist individuals in developing and maintaining behaviors conducive to a healthy lifestyle.
All clients entering a DACCO Residential or Medication Assisted Treatment program meet with a medical doctor, nurse or other medical provider for a health history and an evaluation of medical needs and potential health problems. Additional services include the administration of appropriate prescription medications. Based on need and referral, individuals in our outpatient programs can also receive medical attention.
Our onsite medical clinics, operated in cooperation with Suncoast Community Health Center, provides access to additional services overseen by an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Individuals can also receive help in applying for Medicaid or the County Health Plan, ensuring their continued access to services even after they complete treatment.
We also offer a medical screening and consultation for substance use disorders and co-occuring behavioral health issues.
