Medication Assisted Treatment Services:A program for adults who have been addicted to heroin or other prescription narcotics for at least a year providing evaluation and treatment. Includes the prescription and monitoring of buprenorphine or methadone by a medical professional as part of an individualized treatment plan. An outpatient program for persons 18 years of age and older who have an opiate addiction that has lasted for one year or longer. Some of the most commonly prescribed opiates include:
In addition to the prescribed opiates mentioned, the illegal drug, Heroin is also an opiate. This outpatient program at DACCO is medically proven and is overseen by a physician who has received specialized training in addiction medicine. The program includes specific treatment standards designed to reduce the cravings for and withdrawal symptoms associated with opiate addiction. Onsite Primary Care ClinicIn cooperation with Tampa Family Health Centers Inc., medical and financial assistance services are provided onsite including history and physicals as well as lab work when indicated. Clients are also provided assistance with initiating and completing medical insurance paperwork to ensure eligibility and coverage through existing local, state and federal resources. Onsite Mental Health ServicesMedical direction is provided for the mental health clinic through an agreement with Dr. David Myers and his medical team which includes a formal affiliation agreement with the University of Florida. Lab TestingOnsite full service, state-of-the-art, point of collection drug testing services are available through an agreement with Compass Vision Inc. In addition to urine drug screens the latest in alcohol screening known as ETG. The ETG test is used to monitor the alcohol level in individuals who are legally restricted from drinking alcohol by the justice system or employers. This test will be available to law enforcement officials, employers and physicians. |
